When Nothing Is Going Right In Life — Here's The Way Out
A post inspired by massive challenges that have shown up in my life, and how I'm using my inner-work to cope.
What do you do when nothing is going right in your life?
This is a timely post for whoever seems to be in a downward spiral that just won't stop
I've decided to write this post because I've had some absolutely horrible things happen in my life over the past month
No, this doesn't have to do with the election
But rather, large holes that have been blown in my boat recently that have caused me to stop, take more than a few deep breaths, and resort to prayer and reflection
Unfortunately, I'm not willing to share these things yet because they've happened too recently and are still too close to home, but rest assured I will..
What I do want to focus on in this post are some of the things I've been noticing and applying during my reflection time and long walks.
I know that we've entered a time of uncertainty in our country and our world
And no doubt, I know that everyone is facing new challenges, some of which are really breaking people down
So what do you do when everything seems to be crumbling around you?
When you feel like you're in a dark cave with no visible light in sight..
When you feel your mind is attacking you from every angle and it just wont stop..
Let me be very clear here:
This is the time where your inner strength truly matters.
This is where your real character shows and is more important than ever
This is a time to reflect, pray, re-group, and take care of yourself
Why is that?
Because the alternative is the continued downward spiral where not only will things continue to sink around you, but you will be at risk of destroying everything you've built over the years including:
Your Character
Your Relationships
Your Career
Your Health
Personally, I don't care how bad things have been for me in the past month, No bad period of time is worth the complete destruction of my life. And it's not worth yours either.

"Challenges are here to awaken you and even if you're awakening, life continuously gives you challenges and then the awakening accelerates and deepens"
Most of us don't like challenges, myself included.
They're annoying, disrupt our routine and lives..
It's not easy to see how they can be beneficial to us, especially when something or someone is taken away from us.
But a quick analysis of our options will show that there are really only 2 main choices
1) Continue to resist what is and prolong our suffering
2) Dust ourselves off, slow down, re-group, and continue to create things that we love around us
The way out of a rut lies in new creation
And before that moment happens, usually reflection and time with ourselves is required.
This can be done by:
Reading a book
Meditating
Long walks
Music + Reflection
Once the alarm system within our minds is able to calm down, we begin to realize that no matter what has happened to us, we are still here and still able to continue on.
The choice is ours, and ours alone
Not only can we continue moving on, but we can actually grow and transcend from these challenges.
Another way we can look at it is:
Where would we be, had these challenges not happened at all?
I can tell you that I would be somewhat taking life for granted, lost in my comforts, and probably consuming more than creating
Sometimes these volcanic eruptions happen in the form of a "loving nudge" to get us back on track, even though we may not like it.
So today, I further challenge you to take some time for yourself, listen to your soul, and realize that everything will be ok
90% of what you worry about never comes true
Time doesn't necessarily heal all wounds, but what it does do is bring clarity into the picture on what to do and where to go next.
Rest, Reflect, Show some love to yourself
The rest will follow..
We are all going to be ok

Excellent read, Nick! I wholeheartedly agree that true character is revealed when things go "wrong". Keep the faith!
"Right" is on its way ♥️
