Hey Deborah! Thanks so much, I'm delighted that you enjoyed the story. And you are very welcome for the recommendation, your writing is so thoughtful and heartfelt. I want to help more people find that through your work.
I’m 69 now and have come to believe what this article teaches, over the last 5 years
I used to lie awake at night worrying about this or that. I’ve got decades of that, being an entrepreneur, and the experience that my worries hardly ever came true. I’d wake in morning, and the solution was obvious and simple at the time it presented itself that next day. Really simple
So about five years ago I decided to enjoy the ride from here on out. I’ve gone through tough times in the past but had never missed a meal if I wanted that, not even a snack if I wanted it too.
Worry kills ….. time. Enjoy and be thankful for your time. The earlier you do that, the longer you have to enjoy your life and friends and all moments. I’ve backslid occasionally but it’s gotten better and better
Mike, THANK YOU for sharing your personal experience! This is highly valuable because you've shown others the journey that you took to realize this. Your share will absolutely help someone so I really appreciate your comment. I want to share with you that I also find my self backpedaling occasionally, especially when life gets really heavy around me. It's easy to get carried away when things get critical around us. I always remind myself that the best we can do is have a set of tools to reset our minds back to that conscious state of calm. Things that have worked for me include: Any kind of walk outside, reading a great book, some light stretching, taking 10 conscious deep breaths (works anywhere), and allowing myself to smile as I focus on a few things around me that I'm grateful I have. Thank you so much again for your valuable share!
We humans naturally tend to worry and be concerned about potential negatives more often than not. In this modern era, this particular characteristic of ours does more harm than good.
I agree with nearly everything you have stated. And in today's world, the media in all its various forms does its best to disseminate fear, division and worry. The difference for me is I do not trust in myself. Doing that has caused most of the problems I have had throughout my life. I trust only in the Living God.
Thank you David, and I can definitely see the point that you're making. It's a good one. Strongly agree with you about the media. God is the almighty, and if we can learn to trust ourselves through God and connect to that frequency, we become one, and trust in ourselves has a lot more backing. Just sharing what popped into my head and who even knows where that thought came from!
Thank you John! I'm so glad the story spoke to you! My dad was always able to inspire people and create thought provoking conversations through his stories. My goal is to do the same. It feels great! I appreciate your compliment!
Absolutely. A great point to keep in mind. We don't have as much control over our thoughts as we think, so worries will definitely set in or at least come knocking! Over time, through awareness, we can choose to answer that door or not. But I've heard the knock never completely goes away.
Thank you Mohika, I'm so glad that you found value in this story! I've found that constant reminders about this topic really helps me stress and worry less as well. Each reminder helps it sink in more and more! We can truly be free from these things eventually.
Beautiful article!!! I agree. Worry and doubt just poison our minds. We need to focus on what we can control and the positive sides of life, instead of worrying about the future. Loved the read. ❤️
This came at the right time as I currently feel weighed down by two big things I need to get through. I keep thinking I'll be able to breathe easier after I get them done, but have been slow moving at actually making that happen. Thank you for the reminder that it really is all in my head and that I've already conquered so much in life. This is just another page in that.
You just hit home for me with this one! My mind constantly tries to get control about all aspects of the future.
And I love that this trick is going without stressing about mediation and other stuff. I think I will distribute post-its with it all over the flat 🤣
Hey Fabienne! I'm so glad you enjoyed this and that it spoke to you. I'm guilty of posting notes all around my space too!
Omg same 🙂↕️😹
This is so good Nick! Stress, worry, is probably the no. 1 time waster and health killer. Love the story and picture of you and your dad.
Also, thank you for your kind recommendation of my work. ox

Funny thoughts I had reading this article

'"90% of what you worry about doesn't come true"'
We humans naturally tend to worry and be concerned about potential negatives more often than not. In this modern era, this particular characteristic of ours does more harm than good.
Thanks Raveeen, I couldn't agree more! The more we realize this, process it, and work to change it, the less worry there will be in the world!
Our minds really do shape our reality in a way..
Great post, but I still can't help worrying about The Baggage Retrieval System they've got at Heathrow. https://open.spotify.com/track/7k20aA14NFI7J2PRVF4gpj?si=09c1810c6c724e32
HAHA! I haven't been to Heathrow in quite some time but I can't even imagine now!
That airport must be a complete zoo...

What you said is absolutely true. When we let go of worries, energy flows in and we can do more.
We just need to remind ourselves from time to time as worry is a natural tendency.

a reminder I desperately needed to read! Your dad is SO RIGHTTTTT!

Thank you so much! That photo was from a father / son trip to Sedona, AZ this May. The spiritual energy there is just incredible!
