I love your post. It speaks to me. I could read it again and again. Thank you. I particularly like the authenticity part. Self editing. It makes so much sense. Still trying my best not to keep doing that.
Thank you so much Glenda, and thank you also for joining our community! It's so hard to be authentic in a world that presents so many performances! I've found that letting my feelings be my guide really helps me shift into the person I want to be. If it gets difficult, I just slow down and keep going, but never stop. :)
But sometimes, it gets lonely when people either say they care about you but too busy, or they aren’t busy but never really show they care. It makes me wonder where exactly I belong. Everyone else seems to be occupied with their own thing to notice the authentic me exist. But as you said, our kind of people stay or they come find us. So, there’s no use whining. 😅✌️
Thanks for sharing this Glenda, I've also come up with this a lot in the past and it's really hard especially with close friends and family. I can tell you that a hard truth I've come to realize is that "there is always time for loved ones, no matter how busy you are" and if other people are not giving you that, it is saying something about what they're currently going through and how they're feeling. I realized after a lot of previous suffering that it is our jobs to give ourselves what we need and if our network isn't doing it for us, it doesn't mean to cut ties with them, but to begin exploring for other people and communities that fit your vibe and give you the respect and attention you deserve. It's the only way we can build strong relationships -- by putting in the time. Substack is a great place to start! Don't be fooled by the thought that you need in person relationships right away to satisfy your growth. Connecting with like-minded people online CAN and WILL make you feel better. You can then use that great feeling as a springboard to go out and start interacting with people that have similar interests at events, self-improvement masterminds, and any other events that highlight topics you're into! I hope this is helpful. Just know that you are not alone in this, and you are seen. Stay on the journey!

Thank you for your kind and honest words. Saying them just made me feel seen. Enjoy the weekend.
