Hey Nick, this was such a great read! I really resonate with this and I’m so sorry you had to go through this, but glad it showed you your worth! I had tons of toxic friends when I was in high school and I didn’t want to leave them because I was afraid of being alone. So I kept doing foolish things to keep them entertained and would almost be their therapist whenever they needed someone to vent to. I realized I wasn’t getting that same treatment from them so I knew something had to change. A lot of drama happened after that which caused me to rip the bandaid off. After that, I started to find a group of friends who truly valued me and supported me and I’m still friends with some of those people today. Thank you so much for sharing this Nick! Keep up the great work! 💪❤️
Hey Khadejah, thanks so much for your comment. I totally resonate with being a "therapist" type for my past toxic friends. It did bring me some fulfillment initially but it turned into an absolute nightmare shortly after that! All that to say, I realized it wasn't worth it and I still help my friends today, just in a different way that works for me and keeps me healthy! Cheers to you for finding your way also. I'm honored to be on what I believe is the best human social media platform, with you!
Aw, thank you so much for this Nick! I’m so glad you’ve found a way to protect your mental health and do things that feel right for you! Love this! Thank you so much for everything you bring to Substack! Love the positive messages you spread in your newsletter! Keep up the awesome work! :)
Awesome Nick! I've noticed that as I upgrade my self-respect and boundaries, the quality of my community upgrades too. All is a mirror. As within, so without. Bravo!!
Thanks Jacqueline! I love that quote "as within, so without". It's amazing what we can do with the right framework. I wish we learned this truth from a younger age and didn't have to unlearn to relearn, lol. Really appreciate you reading!

These observations are valuable in any relationship! You can replace community with marriage throughout and it is perfect!
